Many people who have hair problems do not fully control the stages of hair-planting, and they make this a big deal out of their eyes. Don’t worry, the hair-planting operation is a process of about 3 weeks from preparation to recovery. If you follow your doctor’s instructions and give your hair the necessary attention during the healing process, everything will be fine. After the first 3 weeks, the period of hair reappearance, strength and style begins, which is about 6 to 12 months.
Preparing for the operation
Our pre-op experts will review the planting site, and run your hair analysis to determine the estimated number of grafts to be needed. Up to 1 week before the operation, you are advised to be careful about the following.
- Until seven days before the operation, you shouldn’t use blood thinner drugs, aspirin, etc.,
- If you have blood pressure, diabetes and other health problems, you must inform your doctor,
- You must stop drinking and smoking, starting 10 days before the operation,
- The first 5 days after the operation are very critical. You must try to complete or postpone your urgent and important work in order to get this period to rest,
- Don’t miss a good breakfast on the morning of the operation. An operation of approximately 3,000 grafts can take 6–8 hours.
- Put on a front-button shirt-style outfit. After the operation, you won’t be able to take off your shirts, sweaters and similar crew-neck clothing.
Hair Transplantation Day
You should be careful to be in the clinic on the day of the operation. Our pre-op specialist will determine the area where the grafts will be collected and the area to be planted for the last time. Then a blood test will be performed and a vascular line will be opened.
Local anaesthesia: Procedures will be started by administering local anaesthesia. Local anaesthesia will first be applied to the area where the grafts will be taken. This will take approximately 10–15 minutes.
Hair Transplantation Process:
This process consists of 3 stages.
Graft collection: After anaesthesia, grafts will begin to be collected in the area determined by the doctor. Each graft collected is collected on a device called the pen-set and held in a special protective liquid to keep the collected tissue alive. The collection process varies according to the number of grafts to be collected but takes an average of 2 hours. Meanwhile, the patient lies face down.
Channel opening action: After graft collection, the channel opening will be performed. However, local anaesthesia will be applied to the area where the channel will be opened before this procedure. After anaesthesia, our specialist doctor will open the channels to determine the direction in which your new hair will naturally emerge. The number of grafts collected will open the channel in the area to be harvested. This phase is important because the depth, frequency and angle of the channels directly affect the natural nature of the hair-planting operation.
Hair transplanting: Usually after the channel opening, a 1-hour break is given for both the patient’s rest and the need for nutrition. During this time, our patients are given a little more detailed information about the process and are given rest. After the break, the grafts collected will begin to be planted in the channels. This process varies according to the number of grafts, and the number of specialists involved in the operation.
